New iMac
August 7th, 2007
Apple unveiled the new incarnation of the iMac…..and I have to say it looks pretty sleek. Although it only comes in glossy with no option for matte and I’m working on getting used to the Black Border + Logo. I enjoy the Aluminum casing, the fact that it’s thinner is a bonus, but the Black combination reminds me of a Dell I had 5 years ago, haha, well sorta. But I’ll let you be the judge…
John Rambo
July 31st, 2007
Yes, Rambo is Back! Now you’re probably wondering am I being sarcastic or am I genuinely excited for the 35th installment or whatever of Rambo. Hellz-Yeah I’m excited!
Movie Synapsis:
The next chapter finds Rambo recruited by a group of Christian human rights missionaries to protect them against pirates, during a humanitarian aid deliver to the persecuted Karen people of Burma. After some of the missionaries are taken prisoner by sadistic Burmese soldiers, Rambo gets a second impossible job: to assemble a team of mercenaries to rescue the surviving relief workers.
Well I’m sold. Check out the Trailer below.
Aeronified
July 25th, 2007
Since I spend a good portion of my day trapped in front of my computer and since my back sometimes feels like I have fallen from a 100 story building, it only seemed right I do something about it. Obviosuly I’m not going to cut down my work time so the only other option is improving my seating arrangement, so I finally splurged and got myself an Aeron Chair…very pleasing to the eyes and way more pleasing to sit on.
The Darjeeling Limited
July 25th, 2007
The Darjeeling Limited is a upcoming film by Wes Anderson (Rushmore, Bottle Rocket, etc), the movie host a stellar cast of Owen Wilson (of course), Jason Schwartzman & Adrien Brody. I think I will see this movie…
A Power Saving Tip
July 24th, 2007
Blackle is Google but instead of white it’s black …. actually I’ll just let them explain it to ya.
From the Blackle Website:
Blackle saves energy because the screen is predominantly black. “Image displayed is primarily a function of the user’s color settings and desktop graphics, as well as the color and size of open application windows; a given monitor requires more power to display a white (or light) screen than a black (or dark) screen.” Roberson et al, 2002
In January 2007 a blog post titled Black Google Would Save 750 Megawatt-hours a Year proposed the theory that a black version of the Google search engine would save a fair bit of energy due to the popularity of the search engine. Since then there has been skepticism about the significance of the energy savings that can be achieved and the cost in terms of readability of black web pages.
Ah man…does this mean I have to redesign my Blog now?
The Police
July 24th, 2007
Well it took a few decades of waiting but last night it finally happened. I saw The Police Live in Concert! To hear the songs I grew up with and to witness these great musicians who have influenced me will be something I won’t soon forget. Now the list of Bands I have always wanted to see shrinks by one…so when is ABBA doing a reuinion tour…haha.
Funny Times!
July 19th, 2007
Over the weekend I went and saw probably my favourite Comedian right now, Dave Attell. It was a great night of laughter, and I actually got to chill out with him which was amazing. The show also featured Louie CK who added to the hilarity of the night. If you haven’t seen his Show on HBO, Lucky Louie make sure you do. (although it may have been cancelled…not sure)

The Return of PW
June 20th, 2007
I couldn’t help but chuckle when I came across the news that Paul Reubens was resurrecting Pee Wee Herman for the Big Screen in Pee-Wee’s Playhouse: The Movie
In a recent interview Pee Wee Herman creator Paul Reubens announced that one new Pee Wee Herman movie will be in production within the year and another will follow, “The first movie is going to be extension of Pee Wee’s Playhouse, except that it will take place mostly outside the playhouse” It will be a road trip, much like Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, in which Pee Wee meets several characters from the show along the way. Reubens didn’t confirm or deny whether such modern day stars who got their start on Pee Wee’s Playhouse like Laurence Fishburne or S. Epatha Merkerson would reprise those roles.
I’m not sure, but I may be too old to be watching a 54 year old man talk to household appliances for 2 hours, but maybe I can if he can get Tim Burton back to direct…
Apple
June 18th, 2007
Yes I did fall off the face of the earth last week, so a little catching up is due.
Looks like Apple has now officially moved out of the Aqua Era with their New Revamped Site
Stumbling through the site I came across the iPhone Technology Section, loaded with some 3D Demonstrations It’s quite Interesting, have a look.
And lastly, Apple released Safari for Windows….(then a Security Fix 48 hours later). They claim it’s 2 times faster then IE & 1.6 times faster than Firefox, so time to give it a try. Enter the Safari Here.
